On Tuesday 22 September, we took delivery of pool noodles donated by Happy Hot Tubs.
The noodles will form soft, forgiving barriers around our RC track, helping us create a clear layout while protecting the cars as pupils learn to drive.

Testing a simple connection
The noodles are solid rather than hollow, so we have begun carefully cutting holes into the ends and test fitting short lengths of garden hose. The hose creates a flexible connection that can join sections together while allowing us to change the track layout.

The next step
Our next plan is to 3D print clips that can hold the noodles securely to the carpet using Velcro. The aim is to create barriers that stay in place while the cars are running but remain quick to move when we want to build a different circuit.
We are hoping to find a local 3D printing company that would be willing to help us develop and produce the clips. If your company could support this part of the project, please get in touch.
