Next Lap RC Academy gives young people a hands-on introduction to radio-controlled cars, building confidence, practical skills and great memories along the way.

Fast cars get their attention. Learning to control, understand and care for them turns that excitement into confidence, patience and practical problem-solving.

Sessions are being built around clear safety rules, age-appropriate equipment, guided activities and a welcoming environment where beginners can take their time.

A welcoming after-school programme where every child can learn at their own pace, experience friendly competition and discover what makes the machines move.

The first club will launch at Heymann Primary School. Expansion to other schools may be explored in the future, but is not yet confirmed.

Safe and well supported

Clear rules. Checked equipment. Plenty of guidance.

The club will run in agreement with the host school and follow its safeguarding, supervision and site requirements.

  • Beginner friendly

    No previous RC experience or personal equipment will be needed to take part.

  • Safety first

    Equipment, driving activities and club rules will be designed around safe participation.

  • Experienced guidance

    Led by parent volunteer Alex Clark, who has hands-on experience in RC car racing, with additional school-approved support where available.
