Our fleet has arrived.

Today we received six FTX Banzai touring cars from our partner CML Distribution, marking a major milestone for Next Lap RC Academy.

These are the cars pupils will use to learn the basics of RC driving, develop confidence and begin exploring how hobby-grade radio-controlled cars work.

Why a shared fleet matters

Using six cars of the same model gives the academy a consistent starting point. It will help us:

  • Give pupils an equal experience
  • Prepare and maintain the cars to the same standard
  • Introduce setup and simple maintenance in a clear way
  • Keep activities structured and beginner friendly
  • Run driving challenges and friendly racing

Preparing for the first club

The next step is to inspect, prepare and test each car before the first sessions at Heymann Primary School. We will also use this time to finalise safe operating routines and make sure the equipment is ready for young drivers.

We are also considering simple ways to make each car easy to identify, including painting every rear wing a different colour and labelling each controller to match. This could help pupils quickly pair the correct controller with each car and make managing the fleet clearer during sessions.

We are extremely grateful to CML Distribution for supporting the academy and helping us put proper RC equipment into pupils' hands.
